Best Anti-Aging Foods for a Younger Look

Packing your diet with healthy vibrant foods will help you look and feel younger. Pick foods that are loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats, water, and essential nutrients to reduce the signs of aging. Our skin is our largest organ and often is the first place that our body can show that we have internal troubles.

Best Anti-Aging Foods for a Younger Look

Dermatologists report that skin can reflect the general inner health of a person. There are certain aspects of aging that you can’t change. Our chronological aging is a part of a normal pattern that all organs go through. Our extrinsic skin aging however is something that we do have control over. This aging is impacted by environmental influences such as sun exposure and pollution. Areas that we can provide the best protection would include ensuring that we get enough sleep and provide our body with balanced nutrition that is high in antioxidant rich foods.

Some of the best foods to include in your diet are:

  • Red Bell Pepper are high in vitamin C and loaded with antioxidants.

  • Papaya is a delightful superfood that has a variety of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can help fight free radical damage.

  • Blueberries help in the production of white blood cells to boost the immune system. Many of the deep blue fruits and vegetables are high in antioxidants.

  • Broccoli is high in vitamin C and K which helps with the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein that provides skin with strength and elasticity.

  • Pineapple is rich in vitamins and minerals. One mineral manganese provides the amino acid proline which creates the formation of collagen in the skin.

  • Avocados contain minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats. They are loaded with essential nutrients that may prevent signs of aging.

  • Sweet Potatoes and other orange fruits and vegetables are high in the antioxidant beta-carotene which is converted to vitamin A. Sweet potatoes seem to be especially high in this skin restoring antioxidant.

  • Carrots like sweet potatoes are high in beta-carotene.

  • Pomegranate seeds are high in vitamin C and other powerful antioxidants. The fruit contains punicalagins which may preserve collagen in the skin and slow signs of aging.

  • Eggs contain choline and biotin. The choline will support our brain and memory function as we age. The biotin promotes hair and scalp health.

  • Dark Chocolate is high in antioxidants and is believed to increase blood flow and circulation to the skin.

One way to include several of these into your diet each day would be to create a smoothie. Smoothies are a great way to include a variety of foods to your diet each day.

A recipe that I enjoy is:

1 beet, 1 carrot, 1 celery stick, 1 radish (White/red or both), 1 small potato.

Try adding different fruits and vegetables together to find a combination you enjoy. Adding these healthy options to your daily meal plan will help you live your ideal life.
